about

The story behind "Profusion" is this: Ever since I was a little child, I was for some reason concerned with the issue of waste in the face of poverty in other places of the world. I can't quite say why this is, but until this day, it's something I care about. I try not to waste water or electricity, and I certainly hate throwing away food! Even when I was a kid, I always insisted on eating the salad decoration (the greens) that usually comes with dishes in restaurants, even though I was told that I didn't have to because that was merely decoration. I didn't get it. Why put food on the plate that is not supposed to be eaten, just to throw it away later? I still don't get it. So, I think the song and title are pretty self-explanatory.
However, the problem with the song was that I later (long after recording it) realized – and so did many others – that the melody in the verse is exactly the same as Bad Religion's "Sanity", a song I never cared much for and thus always skipped when listening to "No control". That's why I later re-wrote the song, and we re#recorded it with Utopia Now. But that's also why I stopped distributing it online. Until now.
