Wide awake

from Wide awake (2002) by Indigo

/

about

"Wide awake" was, believe it or not, written under the shower (which might explain why it's so short ;->). The song was written in the W. Bush years and does allude to him. Generally, the song is about this absurd-seeming game we have created. It's called politics. We mostly allow ourselves to be fooled by multimillion-dollar campaigns and then elect someone into office who sometimes fucks things up, and we have no one but ourselves to blame. I think this was certainly the case with President G. W. Bush. A little more rationality on the part of the voting population could have avoided a lot of trouble.
